DMCA Copyright Policy

AstroCodex (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998 (“DMCA”), we will respond expeditiously to claims of copyright infringement reported to our designated copyright agent.
1. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that material available on or through AstroCodex infringes your copyright, please submit a written notification (“DMCA Notice”) containing the following information to our designated agent:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered, a representative list of such works.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate it (e.g., URL or description).
- Your contact information, including your address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
2. Designated Copyright Agent

We recommend using email for fastest processing. We will acknowledge receipt and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
3. Counter-Notification
If you believe that material you posted was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or for any judicial district if your address is outside the United States), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notification.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the original complaining party. If the original complainant does not file a court action within fourteen (14) business days, the removed material may be restored.
4. Repeat Infringers
In accordance with the DMCA and other applicable law, we have adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
5. Misrepresentation
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be subject to liability for damages. Do not submit false claims.
