ChatGPT astrology with your real birth chart

Connect the AstroCodex MCP and ChatGPT stops guessing your chart

Plain ChatGPT invents planet positions. Connect the AstroCodex Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and ChatGPT reads your real birth chart — Swiss-Ephemeris-accurate positions, 390+ Vedic, Western and Hellenistic calculators, every result backed by a classical source. Ask in plain language; get a real astrologer’s answer.

The difference

Why ChatGPT alone gets astrology wrong

A language model has no ephemeris. Without real data it confidently makes up degrees, dashas and yogas. The MCP connector replaces guesswork with computed astronomy.

Without MCP

Plain ChatGPT

  • Hallucinates planet degrees and houses — numbers that look precise but are invented
  • Confuses sidereal (Vedic) and tropical (Western) zodiacs in the same answer
  • Cannot run dashas, yogas, divisional charts or KP — it paraphrases blog posts
  • No access to your saved charts; you re-type birth data every conversation
  • Generic sun-sign clichés instead of your actual chart
  • No live transits — it does not know where the planets are today
With AstroCodex MCP

ChatGPT + AstroCodex

  • Exact positions from the Swiss Ephemeris — the engine professional software uses
  • Sidereal and tropical kept strictly separate; the AI cannot mix them
  • 390+ real calculators: yogas, dashas, varga charts, aspects, dignities, fixed stars, KP
  • Reads your saved natal, partner and synastry charts directly
  • Every claim is computed from your coordinates, with classical source citations
  • Live transits, returns and muhurta windows, real-time from the ephemeris
What the AI receives

The exact data ChatGPT gets through MCP

When you ask a question, ChatGPT calls AstroCodex tools and receives structured, computed astrology — not a web guess. This is everything it can pull on demand.

Precise planetary positions

Longitude, sign, retrograde state and speed for every planet, node and key point — to the arc-minute, from Swiss Ephemeris.

Houses, Ascendant & Lagna

Full house cusps with your rising sign and house lords, in your chosen house system, for Western and Vedic alike.

Nakshatras & dignities

Each planet’s nakshatra and pada, plus exaltation, debilitation, own-sign and combustion states — the building blocks of real interpretation.

Yogas, doshas & dashas

Detected Raja, Dhana and Mahapurusha yogas, Mangal and other doshas, and the running Vimshottari / Jaimini dasha periods with dates.

Aspects, dignities & timelords

Western aspects with orbs, essential and accidental dignity, midpoints, Arabic parts, fixed stars and Hellenistic time-lord periods.

Divisional charts (D1–D60)

Navamsa, Dasamsa and the full varga set — the charts a Vedic astrologer reads for marriage, career and deeper life themes.

Live transits & timing

Today’s transits to your natal chart, eclipse timelines, lunations, planetary stations and auspicious muhurta windows.

Synastry & compatibility

Ashtakuta and dvadashakuta matching, Western synastry aspects, composite and Davison charts, relationship scoring across traditions.

Backed by the classics

Every result carries citations from Parashara, Phaladeepika, Ptolemy and other classical texts — verifiable astrology, not invented claims.

Your raw birth data stays on AstroCodex servers. ChatGPT receives only the computed astrological results — never your private details.

How to connect AstroCodex to ChatGPT

ChatGPT’s Developer mode is a full MCP client. Add AstroCodex as a custom connector once and it is available in every chat.

ChatGPT Plus / Pro / BusinessDeveloper modeOAuth — no API key to paste
  1. 1Open ChatGPT on the web with a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan. Custom connectors are not available on Free or in the mobile apps.
  2. 2Go to Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on “Developer mode” (the full MCP client).
  3. 3Back in Apps & Connectors, click “Create” / “New connector”, name it “AstroCodex”, and paste the MCP server URL below.
  4. 4Set Authentication to “OAuth” and click Create. ChatGPT opens an AstroCodex sign-in page — log in and approve access to your charts. There is no API key to copy.
  5. 5Start a new chat, enable the AstroCodex connector from the “+” menu, and ask “build my Vedic chart and find my strongest yoga”. ChatGPT calls the tools automatically.

Developer mode is a true MCP client — not the same as a Custom GPT “Action” (Actions take an OpenAPI schema and cannot consume an MCP endpoint). You will need an AstroCodex account on a plan with Account API access; issue it from your profile in one click.

Try it

ChatGPT astrology prompts to try once connected

Natural language in, real astrology out. ChatGPT picks the right AstroCodex tools and interprets the results for you.

“Build my Vedic chart and explain my strongest yoga in plain words.”
“Which Vimshottari dasha am I running, and what does this period mean for my career?”
“Compare my chart with my partner’s — what does the synastry say about long-term compatibility?”
“What major transits hit my natal Moon this month, and which days matter?”
“Read my D10 (Dasamsa) chart for career direction.”
“Find an auspicious muhurta to sign a contract next week.”
Prompt library

ChatGPT astrology prompts you can copy right now

Ten copy-paste prompts, grouped by theme. They work in plain ChatGPT if you paste your real placements — and best of all when ChatGPT is connected to AstroCodex and pulls your chart itself.

Birth chart reading

Act as a professional astrologer. Here are my exact natal placements: [paste from AstroCodex]. Give me a full birth chart reading — start with my Sun, Moon and rising sign, then the three strongest aspects and what they say about my character.

Using the placements below, identify the three most defining features of my birth chart — stelliums, angular planets, tight aspects — and explain each one in plain language. [paste placements]

Love & synastry

Compare these two charts for long-term compatibility: [paste both sets of placements]. Cover Sun–Moon contacts, Venus–Mars aspects, Saturn contacts and house overlays, then give an honest summary of strengths and frictions.

My Venus is in [sign and house] and my partner’s Mars is in [sign and house]. What does this pairing mean in synastry — attraction, conflict style, and what we should watch out for?

Career & purpose

Based on these placements [paste], what do my Midheaven, 10th house and Saturn say about the work I am built for? Suggest three career directions that fit the chart and one to avoid.

I am choosing between two options at work. Given my placements [paste] and today’s date, which strengths in my chart should I lean on — and does current timing favour a bold move or patience?

Transits & timing

Today is [date]. Here are the current transiting positions and my natal placements: [paste both]. Which three transits matter most for me this month, and on which days are they exact?

My natal Saturn is at [degree and sign]. Explain my Saturn return — when it hits exactly, what it usually brings, and how to prepare for it.

Learning astrology

Teach me to read a birth chart step by step: the Big Three first, then planets in houses, then aspects. After each step, quiz me with one question before moving on.

Explain the difference between the tropical and sidereal zodiac to a beginner, and show how the same birth date can give different signs in each system.

Tip: every prompt gets dramatically better when ChatGPT reads your real chart instead of pasted text. Connect your chart to any AI·Explore the MCP server

Frequently asked questions

Does ChatGPT support astrology connectors / MCP?

Yes. ChatGPT’s Developer mode (Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced) is a full Model Context Protocol client. You add the AstroCodex remote MCP server as a custom connector and ChatGPT can call its astrology tools inside any conversation. Available on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu — not on the Free tier or the mobile apps.

Can ChatGPT read my birth chart by itself?

Not accurately. Plain ChatGPT has no ephemeris, so it invents planetary positions, mixes up sidereal and tropical zodiacs, and cannot truly compute dashas, yogas or divisional charts. With the AstroCodex MCP it reads exact Swiss-Ephemeris data and runs 390+ real calculators, each tied to a classical source — accurate astrology instead of confident guesses.

Is it free?

You need two things: a ChatGPT plan that supports connectors (Plus and up) and an AstroCodex account on a plan with Account API access. AstroCodex has a free engine tier, but reading your saved charts over MCP requires a paid Account API plan. There is no extra charge from OpenAI for adding a connector.

Is my birth data safe?

Yes. You connect over OAuth — you sign in to AstroCodex and approve access; there is no API key pasted into the chat. ChatGPT receives only the computed astrological results (positions, technique output, summaries). Your raw birth data — date, time, place — stays on AstroCodex servers and is never sent to the model.

Vedic or Western — which does it use?

Both, plus Hellenistic. The traditions are kept strictly separate: a sidereal (Vedic) result and a tropical (Western) result are never mixed or averaged. Just tell ChatGPT which tradition you want, or ask for both side by side.

Is this the same as a Custom GPT?

No. A Custom GPT “Action” consumes an OpenAPI schema and is limited. The MCP connector is a richer, native integration: ChatGPT discovers every AstroCodex tool automatically and can read your saved charts, create new ones, run any calculator and compute live transits — all in one conversation.

What are good ChatGPT astrology prompts?

The best ChatGPT astrology prompts do three things: set a role (“act as a professional astrologer”), supply real data (your exact placements — pasted in, or read live through the AstroCodex connector), and ask for something specific (an aspect, a house, a time window) rather than a vague “read my chart”. The copy-paste prompt library above follows exactly that structure across birth chart, love, career, timing and learning themes.
